General FAQs

The upgrading of the Bank’s core banking system aims to improve the Bank’s operational efficiency to provide better customer experience.

This shall be implemented on June 30, 2024.

There will be a temporary system downtime during the migration to the new core banking system. An advisory will be cascaded/posted in our communication channels prior to its schedule so you can plan your banking transactions accordingly.

While banking transactions shall not be affected after we migrate to the new core banking system on June 30, 2024, please expect the following:

  • Your existing CTBC Bank account number/s shall be replaced with a new account number.
  • For passbook-based Savings or Checking account/s, a new passbook bearing your new CTBC Bank account number will be issued to you once you visit your branch of account.
  • Only the Current Balance Amount will be reflected in the new passbook that will be issued to you and/or in your NetBanking account. A copy of your previous transactions can be requested at any CTBC Bank branch.
  • For Time Deposit (TD) account/s, you may call or visit your branch of account to surrender your TD certificate/s upon your placement/s’ maturity.
  • If you are enrolled in the Bank’s NetBanking, your new CTBC Bank account number/s will already be displayed on the Dashboard.

We encourage you to visit your branch of account on or before June 30, 2024 to update your passbook and/or request for a copy of your account’s transaction history for your reference.

You may still use your checks bearing the existing account number until fully consumed provided that, the checks already comply with the new check design standards. However, old format checks may still be acceptable for presentation by the Payee directly to the Drawee Bank for payments beyond May 1, 2024 either by way of check encashment via over-the-counter or check deposit to the Payee’s Drawee Bank maintaining account. You may refer to our advisory in our corporate website and official FB Page for guidance.

No, all post-dated checks you have issued bearing your existing account number will still be accepted in our new core banking system.

Nonetheless, you may request for a new checkbook/s bearing your new account number at your branch of account starting June 30, 2024.
